Understand AGI

Understand AGI › The syllabus

A course, in an order that builds.

Each module assumes only what the ones before it covered. You can read them out of order, but the order is the point.

How to use this

Most AGI material is written for people who already have the vocabulary. This is written the other way round: each module assumes only what the previous ones established, and defines a term the first time it appears rather than the fourth.

There is no assessment and nothing to sign up for. The reading times are honest estimates for reading properly rather than skimming, which on this subject is the only kind of reading that helps.

If you only read one, read Start here. It is the module the other four assume.

A note on what this is not

This is not a news site and it does not try to be. When something happens and somebody important says something about it, that is reporting, and it is a different job done by a different site - our sister publication AGI Made Clear, which does names, dates and sources and nothing else.

What you get here is the structure underneath the news: the definitions people are arguing from, the way capability is measured, who is building what and why, and the vocabulary to follow any of it without a translator.
